About Me

I call myself a “creative things doer” because I have worked in many different pockets of the music industry, in many different capacities.

I am first and foremost a writer. In the past, I have worked as a hip-hop journalist who covered music but also the political, cultural, and social issues relevant to the community. Some of the artists I’ve interviewed include De La Soul, Mobb Deep, Digable Planets, Bob Power, Dwele, Elzhi, and G-Eazy. From 2017-2020, I served as the Digital Editor for the pre-eminent music and culture publication in New Orleans, OffBeat. There, I published cover stories on well-known musicians including the GRAMMY-winning PJ Morton. I have bylines at Genius, Audiomack, DJ Booth, Ambrosia for Heads, and more.

More recently, I have expanded my writing work to include freelance and contract-based professional services like bios, press releases, copywriting, and brand storytelling. I also do part-time marketing and web design work for local businesses. Currently, I help lead artist management and development at the Gentilly Agency, and am a frequent speaker on panels as well as a member of the Recording Academy.
